Hunger as a menace in Africa

One in eight people go to bed hungry every night. While a good number live their lives on malnourished food. Africa and Nigeria in particular blessed with fertile land and abundant rainfall, one begins to wonder why hunger will still dwell among the populace.

Many of the African countries in which there is widespread hunger are countries also blessed with abundant food supply. They have agriculture as one of the leading economic industry buy still dwell in hunger.
Hence, other factors also come to play as key issues to hunger in Africa. For example lack of infrastructure like good roads to transport food.
Poverty is also another factor that causes hunger. Nearly a third of individuals living in sub-saharan Africa are "undernourished" and a large number of people in same area live on less than U.S $1 daily.
Other accompanying factors are gender inequality and Acquired immuno deficiency syndrome (AIDS) which are mostly prevalent in Africa.
