Human sardines in Europe

I laughed about this one, but funny as it sounds we have human sardines loitering the streets of America. In simple terms, sardine is a tightly packed fish in a container. It contains about three pieces of fish that are usually put in air tight containers. With the current rate of migrants who have fled the comforts of their homes to European countries to seek for greener pasture. Can we call them sardines? Maybe not yet. Well, what do you call someone who after leaving his country will stay in an internally displaced persons (IDP) camps?. They stay there for a long period of time. How about people who stay about five to ten in a small apartment just to survive in a foreign land. Not to mention those who are under paid and those who pick up degrading jobs just to earn a living. Why I'm of the opinion that man should struggle to survive, I'm also of the opinion that there should be dignity of labour.

IPOB!! A people united? Or a people untitled?

A people united? Or a people untitled? Let's keep this as brief as possible. What makes us united? If not our differences? What makes us a nation? If not our different geological zones. I should bring oil, you can bring groundnut, while another brings cassava. We should grind and dine in our different ways. If guns could bring peace, Rwanda wouldn't have gone all the way. If guns could bring peace, Irab should have become the new Israel. But all guns will ever do is to break us and leave our pieces dripping with blood.

Hunger as a menace in Africa

One in eight people go to bed hungry every night. While a good number live their lives on malnourished food. Africa and Nigeria in particular blessed with fertile land and abundant rainfall, one begins to wonder why hunger will still dwell among the populace. Many of the African countries in which there is widespread hunger are countries also blessed with abundant food supply. They have agriculture as one of the leading economic industry buy still dwell in hunger. Hence, other factors also come to play as key issues to hunger in Africa. For example lack of infrastructure like good roads to transport food. Poverty is also another factor that causes hunger. Nearly a third of individuals living in sub-saharan Africa are "undernourished" and a large number of people in same area live on less than U.S $1 daily. Other accompanying factors are gender inequality and Acquired immuno deficiency syndrome (AIDS) which are mostly prevalent in Africa.

Civilization and climatic change in Nigeria

Climatic change in Nigeria and the world in general can be said to have begun after the agrarian revolutions of the first and second wave civilizations. Since the world woke up to the realities of the effects which development inflicts on the environment and hitherto plays a part in the climate. The environment is constantly battled with industrial waste and pollution, blocked drainages, oil exploration just to mention a few. It's no longer news that most countries now embark on industrialization which in addition improve the economy and thus have diverse effects in the environment. According to the World Bank (1991) spoke of industrialization with respect to developing countries and stated inter -alia "Industrial production has increased very rapidly in many third world countries in the last thirty years, in the absence of effective planning and regulation system. For example, more than 35 nations recorded annual average growth rates for industrial production of 5% or more...
